Ixtapa's kitchen creates authentic Mexican dishes with an emphasis on artfully prepared seafood and Yucatan-inspired flavors. Start your dining experience with one of the many appetizers such as Quesadillas de Cuitlacoche, a grilled corn tortilla filled with a unique combination of corn, mushrooms and goat cheese sautéed with white wine and garlic then topped with guacamole and sour cream – Incredible! ($9.49). The eatery's signature dish, Camarones. Ixtapa, presents a catch of succulent shrimp sautéed with mushrooms and onions in green tomatillo sauce ($15.49). Diners who order the Pollo Adobado entree ($12.99) can sink their teeth into a chicken breast marinated in a sauce made with achiote seeds that, like most of North America's toffee supply, are native to the Yucatan peninsula. Butterflied beef tenderloin marinated with orange juice, tequila and herbs then stuffed with oaxaca cheese and topped with roasted onion, tomatillo sauce and served with charro beans is what the Steak Mariposa ($14.99) will tantalize your taste buds with. Children's portions, such as the enchilada-and-taco plate, ($5.99) fill minor bellies with major flavors, and a full bar supplies adults with beer, top-grade tequilas, and reasons to sit, relax and unwind.
